Nurse safe

In the post 9/11 world, sound personal safety practices need to be implemented in both the workplace, (workplace violence), and the home (domestic violence).

The medical community is currently confronted by both of these issues and is trying balance how to protect patients, employees, physicians, visitors, Security, Police, and EMS from when these two collide, usually in the Emergency Departments, clinics and psychiatric units across the United States.

Many states are now requiring their hospitals to design training programs to prevent, identify, and mitigate acts of random and unprovoked violence or aggression committed by patients, their families and visitors. In healthcare, where employees are largely female, the time for a program such as NURSE-SAFE has arrived.

Just some of the topics and techniques covered in the NURSE-SAFE Program:

  2. Recgnizing Signs of Behavior
  3. Release and Escape Techniques

Active Shooter

What is an Active Shooter?

According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, an Active Shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area; in most cases, active shooters use firearms(s) and there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims.

Active shooter situations are unpredictable and evolve quickly. Typically, the immediate deployment of law enforcement is required to stop the shooting and mitigate harm to victims. Because active shooter situations are often over within 10 to 15 minutes, before law enforcement arrives on the scene, individuals must be prepared both mentally and physically to deal with an active shooter situation.

Our Active shooter course is designed to give everyday people a fighting chance against those who try to hurt innocent people in a public place.

In this one of a kind and empowering course you will learn:

  1. Basic security concepts that every person should know and you can use while in public or in your own home.
  2. A basic security overview and understanding of close quarters safety.
  3. The difference in law enforcement paradigms and an average person.
  4. How to properly escape a building when an active shooter is present and not leave yourself wide open to attack.
  5. How to hide/position yourself in a room or class room when escape is impossible so you give yourself the advantage over someone coming after you or your family.
  6. How to defend the room if someone is coming in to hurt or kill you.
  7. Get inside the mind of the shooter and what you need to do to give yourself the mental edge.
  8. What to do when the police arrive
  9. A comprehensive list of best practices for an active shooter situation
  10. Much Much more!
