Kickboxing Clients at iLoveKickboxing Sandy Go Through a Body and Mind “Make-over” in’s 45 Day Transformation Contest

19 recently hosted a National Contest called the 45 Day Transformation Contest. The goal of the contest was to help Kickboxing clients across the country do more than just shed some unwanted pounds. The goal was to help them achieve an overall transformation of body and attain personal growth to become a happier and healthier version of themselves. Tyra Ayres and Quincy Sherman, clients of iLoveKickboxingSandy in Utah, were just two of the many contestants who took part nationwide, but this contest definitely made a difference in their lives.

The goal of the contest was an overall transformation; it was not just a contest to see who could lose the most weight. As part of the contest, each participant had to submit a before and after photo of themselves, a beginning and ending weight, a video recording of themselves talking about their transformation, and (optionally) a written testimonial of their experience in the transformation contest. Contest winners were decided by three factors: (1) change in appearance, (2) pounds lost, and (3) personal growth. said on their blog, “Notice that how many pounds you lose is not the deciding factor! It’s just one factor. That’s because someone who is very overweight can lose pounds much more easily than someone who is not very overweight. That’s why we judge transformations in more in-depth ways” (

One of iLoveKickboxingSandy’s contest participants, Tyra Ayres, said, “The experience was good. It was nice to have 45 days to focus on it. I lost 10 lbs and 10.25 inches, but most of all I changed the way I think. Everything was a choice and some days I made better choices than others. My goal was to be happy about being me and to stop consuming ‘bad things’ whether it was too much candy or caffeine, or being around negative people and negative thoughts.”

Contest participants were given several tools to help them reach their goals. provided meal plans to support the contestants in creating good eating habits because working out and eating right go hand in hand.

Another requirement of the contest was that the participants attend Kickboxing classes regularly, at least two to three times a week, to help them make consistent progress towards their fitness goals.

Another contest participant from iLoveKickboxingSandy, Quincy Sherman, said, “This challenge provided me with the motivation to keep me on track and keep me steadily moving toward achieving my goals. I committed to going to kickboxing class 3 to 4 times per week and I met that goal throughout the challenge. Staying on the nutrition plan was challenging at times, especially on special occasions and weekends, but working so hard in my kickboxing classes really motivated me not to undo all my hard work by eating things that are bad for my body. I feel like my entire outlook on life and making myself, my body, and my overall health a priority has changed me for the better and I truly owe so much to for this amazing life transformation. It is absolutely amazing to see how much progress I have made in such a short amount of time. I never imagined that I could have so much power and strength inside and out. I can honestly say has helped me transform my body, my mind, and my lifestyle.”
